No wonder people love to travel to Thailand these days. It's
hot. It's fun. And it's cheap. Everything here is cheap --
hotels, food, shopping -- you name it. A coconut costs 20 baht
(that's around 50 cents -US). A bowl of noodle costs from 30 to
70 baht (depending on how nice the restaurant is).
Hotels in Thailand are cheap. They have hotels to suit any
budget you have. If you're a backpacker and want to stay in
Bangkok, Kaosan road is your ideal destination. It's dirt cheap.
If you have deepe...

Beverley Minster owes its origin and much of its subsequent importance to St John of Beverley, who founded a monastery locally around 700AD and whose bones s...

One of then most fascinating places in Thailand has to be the Khao Sok national park.
Khao Sok is the largest area of virgin forest in Southern Thailand and is the remains of a rainforest which people claim to be older and more diverse than even the Amazon Basin rainforest.
With Surat Thani situated to the east, Phuket to the south and Ranong to the north, Khao Sok can be easily accessed. And there lies the beauty of Khao Sok, tourists head for Koh Samui, Koh Tao, and Koh Phuket in the s...

Anyone who has ever visited Thailand will know about the beauty of Thai women. In their twenties, they are striking. In their thirties, they are looking more mature, but still most are very attractive.
The women working in the ubiquitous bars and massage parlors of Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket are mostly former housewives, believe it or not, married but separated, with two kids they left back in their village with their mothers. Most are from Isaan, the North-East corner of Thailand, which has a...

The intricate details on a topographic map can be befuddling,
even frustrating, if you are learning while out in the
backcountry. But once you get familiar with the markings and
symbols, reading maps will become a friendly aid, rather than a
dreaded assignment.
Topographic Maps Grid System
Lines of latitude run parallel to the equator (east and west),
and lines of longitude run perpendicular to the equator (north
and south). These lines form a pattern of squares across the
surface of the earth...
